CTP experience

National Association of AONBs
For the last five years CTP has been responsible for developing and facilitating a series of workshops for AONB staff developed in conjunction with the National Association of AONBs, the South West Protected Landscapes Forum, Natural England and the Countryside Council for Wales. Subjects covered have included undertaking Management Plan Reviews, Ecosystem Services, the implications of the Infrastructure Planning Commission as well as regional workshops for the South West and South East AONBs.
English National Park Authorities Association
Facilitation and write up of a meeting of the national park authority chief executives. This event kick-started the process which led eventually to the publication in 2010 of a new UK government Vision and Circular for National Parks
Flora Locale
Working with the trustees using strategic planning techniques to develop a sustainable business model for the charity. This work enabled the charity to submit a funding application to identified foundations to support the development of the business model

North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
Working with all team members to undertake a review of the current staff structures and resources that will allow for future staff changes to be addressed more strategically rather than in a piecemeal fashion. Recommendations have been implemented to include altering the foucs of monthly team meetings to incorporate quarterly reviews that will help reporting outcomes to Natural England.

Peak District Interpretation Partnership
Over the years (amongst other activities) David has facilitated meetings, edited the Peak District Interpretation Strategy and contributed to a series of Landscape Interpretation plans for PDIP. The 2009 networking event focused on interpretation for groups who are under-represented amongst Peak District visitors.
Visiting lecturer at the Department of Landscape, University of Sheffield
Delivery of ‘transferable skills’ sessions to students returning from work experience. Topics have included team working and presentation skills.
