some of the people we work with

Charlie’s background is in protected area management. He has extensive international training experience, having worked places as far afield as the Cape Horn Region, Central Asia, India, Africa and the South Pacific. He has written and provided advice on a wide range of topics including UK wildlife law for the US Bar Association; business planning for natural World Heritage Sites for UNESCO; and zoning policies and approaches for IUCN. He is a member of the World Commission on Protected Areas.

In the UK he specialises in landscape and planning issues, and in countryside interpretation.

Previously Charlie worked at Losehill Hall in the Peak District National Park, and continues to lecture on a part-time basis at the University of Aberystwyth in Wales.

When not messing about in mountains (or falling off them!) Charlie helps out locally as a member of his Community Hall Committee.
